But as schedules shift, another challenge shows up:

Your team stops operating in sync.

  • Different people are off at different times

  • Communication gets more fragmented

  • Handoffs feel less clean

  • Work slows down—not from lack of effort, but from lack of alignment

This is one of the most common (and overlooked) summer leadership challenges.

Focus Area 1: Misalignment Isn’t About Effort

When teams fall out of sync, it’s easy to assume:

  • People aren’t paying attention

Strong leaders focus on:

  • What needs to be communicated

  • Who needs to know

  • What can’t be missed

The clearer and more visible the work is, the easier it is for the team to stay aligned—even when they’re not all present at the same time.
